Clinical Supervision
Sometimes referred to as additional or "outside" supervision, there are times when a clinician collecting hours will seek out a clinical supervisor not affiliated with their agency. Common reasons include: a job not providing clinical supervision, an agency may not have the necessary discipline needed (ex: ASW who needs an LCSW), you may not feel adequately supported clinically or culturally by the available supervisors on staff, or you are managing a complicated case and need an expert to consult.
